Krewe Du Coteau was born from a deep love for the heart of Coteau — a place where tradition, community, and culture run deep. Our founder, Brittany, was raised in Coteau all her life. She grew up immersed in the joy of the Coteau Mardi Gras parade, the warmth of neighbors, and the pride of South Louisiana. That spirit never left her.

As an adult, Brittany saw a need to bring back the traditions that once lit up our streets and united our families. She envisioned a krewe that wasn’t just about celebration — but about connection, outreach, and legacy. Krewe Du Coteau is her answer: a nonprofit dedicated to elevating our community by creating a safe, joyful space for youth to build memories, express themselves, and carry forward the traditions that shaped us.

We center children in everything we do. We believe that when our youth thrive, our families grow stronger, and our community shines brighter. Our alligator mascot, paired with Romans 12:10, symbolizes strength, love, and devotion to one another.

Krewe Du Coteau is powered entirely by the community it serves. Our nonprofit is funded through donations and sponsorships from the very families, neighbors, and local partners we work to bring together. Every contribution — big or small — helps us create meaningful experiences, revive traditions, and build a stronger future for our youth.

We believe in honoring our roots while building something new, something bold, something that belongs to everyone. From community parades to youth-focused outreach and cultural celebrations, Krewe Du Coteau is more than a name — it’s a movement. We celebrate Louisiana’s vibrant culture, mossy oaks, and the spirit of New Iberia, while opening doors for the next generation to lead, create, and shine.

We’re proud. We’re resilient. We’re Krewe Du Coteau.

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” — Romans 12:10
